I payed large for this cat. Hoping for a return to upper teir from carolina. I\'m just wondering what you all think of him and the Canes this year.

I\'ve got some faith left in the kid. Opinions?

Ward is a good goalie, but I lost a lot of faith in Carolina last year, not makign the playoffs come on.....He\'ll get 35 wins seeing as he\'ll start 70 games, but will lack shutouts and therefore fantasy value in my opinion.

Don\'t lose faith, he\'s good. He had 1 bad season...if by seasons end this year he\'s not doing well then perhaps this needs to be re-thought.

You should have faith left in him. In just 1 1/4 seasons under his belt, he has a Conn Smythe and a 30 win season as well at the age of 23. The team battled injuries and a cup hangover last year or all of his numbers would have been better. The sky is the limit for this money goalie. Look at Dobber\'s goalie list and see the few names above him. They are called Brodeur, Luongo, Kiprusoff...so basically, in a keeper league, he is as good as anyone who hasnt already produced a HOF career.

Carolina is going to bounce back this year. You made a good deal getting Ward when his vaule was \"low\" becasue of last season. Carolina was hampered by injuries which is why they didn\'t do as well. They\'ll be healthy this year and will be one of the best teams in teh Eastern confrence.

Be patient with him. He\'s young and shown that he can do great thing. If Carolina can give him real defensive studs, he can definitely be in the top 10 goalies of the league.
