great. you dump a guy who may or may not get dealt to another team. if he doesnt your stuck with a back up that only plays odd games or if an injury comes up.

you get the #1 d man in van who is gonna be on the PP. he has decent all around stats and lets face it getting something points wise is better than getting nothing watch a back up sit on the pine. plus he\'s still fairly young. jump on this quick before the other guy wakes up.

I agree with 87Flyer. While Gerbs could possibly fight for the starting job in camp, he\'s really the one Murray\'s looking to trade, and there\'s no telling when that might happen. Your goaltending position looks fairly solid already, so bringing in Bieksa is a nice boost for the cost.

Works for me! It\'s a gamble - like all trades but seems to me that Bieksa at D for your team works better than Gerber at goal for your team. Can\'t imagine what the other guys team looks like that he needs Gerber.

On the other hand - it\'s all a crap shoot - Emery rips a groin early and he is sitting pretty.

I would trade Gerber, I think he will definalty be out of Ottawa as soon as a deal is in place maybe early in the season if some other team is struggling, they can\'t afford two goalies at nearly 3 mil a piece. On top of that Gerber will probably go to a brutal team. Bieksa is awesome in his sophmore campaign he put up 42 points 24th in D scoring and he had to earn his minutes last year. I wouldn\'t be suprise if he tops 50 point this year and depending on how many fansty points you get for Win and Loses you might as well take the 50 points in Bieksa.
