Hi guys, im entering the second year of my keeper league, we work in a basic points driven league with other categories like pims ,shots etc... Anyways, i have the second overall pick. Right now my team looks like this (just the core)

Crosby/Malkin/Stastny/Horcoff/Cheechoo/Wolski/Morrow/Kunitz/Liles/Whitney/Bieksa/Lehtonen/FLuery/Vokoun

Right now, the top pick in our draft looks to be mason, so I have a choice between nicklas backstrom, Toews, niklas bakstrom (min) or pretty much any other prospect. Now, i am in desperate need of help for my W, do you guys think it is smarter for me to take a player like nicklas bakstrom (wash), or a goalie to trade for W? Goalies are in HIGH demand right now in our league... I also have a few depth C/D to offer up in trades.

You know... I\'d say to pick up either backstrom (c) or backstrom (G). Mason would be the first choice, so if he doesn\'t go first pick, take him without a second thought.

Backstrom (C) will be easy enough to trade if that\'s your desire. The one thing to be careful about with taking Backstrom (G) is that Harding is quite good, and backstrom (g) could be out of a job by the halfway point if he\'s not carefull. I\'m not saying it\'ll happen for sure, but with both him and Biron, you\'ve gotta watch out, because they both have very capable backups.

(I know you don\'t have Biron, but that was more of a general message to everyone).

I would look at taking any one of those three guys [Mason, Backstrom (C), Backstrom (G) in that order]... having 2nd overall pick, you can\'t really go too wrong.
