Default Too many players from one team?

Hi guys, I need some advice involving the distribution of players on my fantasy team. I am currently in a 4 year, points driven league (but there are other categories like pims/shots/ +/- etc...) and right now I have Crosby/Malkin/Whitney/Fluery from Pitty and Stastny/Wolski/Liles from colorado. We can dress 3C 6W 4D 2Utility 2G a night. This means currently I am dressing 7/17 players from 2 teams. On top of this, I am being offered J.Staal, Smyth, Hejduk, and am planning to pick up sykora in our draft (dont ask me how hes there right now). Is this simply too much, loading up more then half my active roster from 2 teams? Granted, theres not much downside to pitty over the next 3 seasons, nor is there a downside with completeing my Colorado connection... is there? The main problem i am having, is that i have been in previous pools where loading up on one team has a.) been great (SJ 2 seasons ago) and b.) not so great (philly last season... Thanks for the input

Steve

Depends -- how many players do you carry on your roster?

The only problem you would have is if their planes were to crash into each other. With the offensive talent those two teams possess, I wouldn\'t be worrying about loading up on only two teams.

we can carry 24 on our roster, so if i added all those players it would be close to 1/2 my total roster, and well over 1/2 my active roster per night

Never worry about too many Penguins either...the Avs, maybe there\'s an issue, but not the Pens...

The only potential negative to keep in mind is -- if both the Pens and the Avs aren\'t playing on a given night, will you have enough guys to fill out your lineup? And conversely, if both the Pens and the Avs are playing, will you need to sit out some of your other good players to give them all lineup spots?

Otherwise it seems that stocking up on Avs and especially Pens isn\'t a bad idea.

the only time it really hurts is h2h when half your team plays twice that week

That\'s right. If this is roto style, then you\'ll be fine, you can sub out a couple of the bottom end guys when the teams have only one or two gms/week but otherwise you want the best 17 players on your starting roster.

I had made a post earlier this year about avoiding players from the same team, but that was referring to H2H. If this is roto, you\'ll be fine.
