Hi everyone,
I would like to get your opinion on Ladislav Nagy now that he got traded to L.A. What will is numbers look like ? On which line will he end up ? How many games will he play (still considered by far a band-aid boy). Should I protect him in my hockey pool (points only) this year or would you guys prefer protecting Brian Rolston instead. Your advise is appreciated. Gel Flow |

Welcome aboard, Gel Flow,
For sure, Nagy will find a spot on one of the first two lines. That means he\'s gonna play with guys like Kopitar and Cammalleri. I don\'t think he\'s been in a better environment before, a place where is offensive potential could finally express itself. Imagine him on a PP unit with Anze, Cammalleri, Visnovski and friends... To be honest I\'ve never been a Nagy fan, but the talent is here and it is a good stage for him : Phoenix and Dallas were not exactly heaven for a young playmaker. Sure, the band-aid factor is still there, but if it\'s a keeper league we\'re talking about, I\'d take the chance and keep him over Rolston, without any question. The aging Rolston is probably not one of your cornerstones (well, I hope not), and won\'t play forever. Nagy, on the other hand, is still young, and must prove himself now that he\'s in a context that can only help him. Keeper league : Nagy, no question. One year ? Hell, I think I\'d still take the Nagy risk, knowing Rolston won\'t give me more than what he gave before, while Nagy\'s numbers can only go up with just a little bit of luck on his side. Good luck, and welcome again ! |

Completely agree with CR. Nagy is now on a much better team than Phoenix or Dallas surrounded him with. His upside has never been better.

Good to have ya GELFLOW.. I would agree with the others. He will be in a pure offensive system now. Now provided he stays healthy. I would lean towards a healthy season just because he only signed a one-year deal. If he would have signed more I would think otherwise.

I would take Nagy over Rolston. While Rolston is a lock for that 65-75 range, Nagy is boom or bust - and if he\'s boom he could win the pool for you. If he\'s bust...you can always replace him with a reserve guy.
