Just looking for opinions on what Tuomo\'s upside and likelihood of reaching it is. My pool counts points, +/-, pims etc. with a bit of a bonus for goals over assists. Primarily interested in how many games you think he can play in a typical year and what type of points he\'ll put up in doing it.

I\'ve been reading through the old posts regarding him, but just thought it might be worth revisiting based on the moves that Chicago has made this summer and the youth they\'ve got who are knocking on the door.

As a secondary question, would you move him now for a young d like Seabrook or Ballard or does his upside still make him worth more than that?

thanks for the input

I\'m going to go out on a limb and say that he plays the whole season and get 60+ points. He has always had the talent, and he and Havlat played pretty well together last year on the PP. With a more supporting cast this coming year, I think he will be allright. I hope his cap is 80+ but realistically 60-ish.

The thing I do like about Ruutu is that he is an all round guy for your pool, points and PIM\'s maybe light in +/- however I really like Seabrook and I would make a deal involvong Ruutu for him.

Tough one blades, I still remember the year I drafted him...\"best player not in the NHL so they said at the time\". After wasting several keeper slots waiting for him to emerge and/or heal I eventually moved on and I rarely look back when I do. They used to call him the next Forsberg. At least he matches him with reckless abandon and frequent injury.

Welcome \'blades\'.

I love the way Ruutu plays the game. His problem, in 05/06 anyway, has been injury. He plays with an \'edge\' and you always worry if he is going to come away from some of his hits \'unscathed\'. Chicago is getting a much better supporting cast. Toews and Lane will be huge for him. He won\'t draw all of the attention anymore. His numbers will go up.

I also really like Seabrook. He had an \'off year\' last year. He will bounce back with the improved supporting cast.

Hardly. He gets hurt so often because he is the opposite of being a *****. That\'s the whole problem with him in fantasy circles. He\'s too brave.

PS - if he can ever play a healthy season, he can get 80 points easily. I think one season in his career he will be healthy...it\'s up to you to guess which season!

60 pts, 120 PIM

Ruutu seems easily capable of that in a full season with this improving club and that would be a valuable asset in a PIM league for sure!

That would be a top 40 rank player in my league.
