Woodbury vs the Prison is feeling a lot closer after last night's episode.....

Damn the Governor is a sick bad guy

They really need to put a little more effort into their writing.

They spent two whole episodes telling us a grand total of 2 things (1 of which we already knew):
1) Morgan's alive, albeit a little less sane than he was.
2) The Governor wants revenge.

Oh, and I guess Glenn and Maggie would rather have sex than be "on watch" protecting the safety of the others at the prison.

Come on writers. Put a little effort into this terrific show. It's not too late to make it great again.

What a boring episode. It was supposed to be tense but it certainly wasn't tense in the Walking Dead sorta way and wasn't even tense in a TV drama that doesn't have zombies sort of way. It would certainly help if the Governor was played by someone with a little more charisma. I mean, is it supposed to be such a joke every time he smiles? I suppose his fake smiles technically make sense, his character is "crazy guy pretending to be sane and in control" so for every smile to be so fake and ridiculous makes sense but just imagine those same scenes with someone who could really draw you in.

It could be the writing but I blame the acting. The Governor has been such a clown/caricature from the very start. It's hilarious when he's doing crazy face killing but when he's trying to play serious he's like one of the villains from Batman Forever (which is ironic because both Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey are fantastic but let's face it they were totally just grabbing the bucks on that one). We know the writers can do good work with good actors because of what happened last season when they introduced that group of outsiders in the saloon. Good acting makes scenes and in an episode like the one they just had bad acting will shine through. I can't wait until they kill the clown Governor and hopefully they get a better villain in the future.

Another thing I hope for is that they don't cop out and have Merle end up becoming a martyr. The dude is a selfish scumbag and needs to go out that way. I swear to god if he ends up giving his life to save someone like Michonne or Carl or really any female character I'm going to snap. Even if he dies to save Darryl I'm gonna be miffed because of the waste of a good character. Frankly, Merle was what made the Woodbury side of things more interesting so the whole fact that he's on the good side is just a failure. He's better as a foil plain and simple and to have him there simply to be the voice of dissent in the prison camp is a waste because we all know that this has to go down with the Governor as the villain so whatever Merle spouts on about is going to get shot down. The only way to earn our trust back in that regard is to either wait and see if he survives this season so he can become a foil again or for him to actually be a loose cannon and do something drastic. Frankly, it would have been a breathe of fresh air had he actually stabbed Glen in the face.

Or how about he sneaks off while Glen and Maggie are banging and crashes the chicken coup and insights the war rather than this all being about the vindictive Governor who I don't actually believe could be that vindictive because the actor playing him doesn't have the chops to make me believe he could be so vindictive despite the numerous times the show has gone out of their way to show me how cut throat he is.

Oh and what exactly was that Glen and Maggie banging scene if not to allow Merle to sneak off? A peace offering to fans for such a slow episode? Talk about wasted plot threads.

Okay, I think I vented enough. **** I love this show but my goodness does it ever suck.

I will add that I loved the interactions between the non-Rick/Governor members of the chicken coup meet up. Obviously Darryl needed to get in his Sawyer-esque barbs because that's just what every action/drama needs to have ever since LOST but after that the interactions were really genuine and played well.

I didn't watch last night.
I have a feeling I may be done with this show... it's lost my interest this season.

Ya after a great first half it's almost like we're back at the farm territory where it's just been the same old stuff going on every episode. We all know the confrontation is coming.....but it's been like 5 episodes since the Governor's first assult on the prison. Why is it taking so long????

This is a good point too, but it's actually one of the story lines that makes a little sense to me.

Rather than attack the prison quickly - unfamiliar territory to them, well-defended with new weaponry now and walls to overcome - why not try to sell them on a potential peace treaty instead and let them walk into a slaughter?
Even when they successfully got into the prison yard, they would have no idea where to start looking. Hopefully, the Gov can now start torturing Andrea to obtain this kind of info.

In the meantime, while Rick mulls over the Michone offer, The Gov can also have Martinez organize and train many other citizens who previously weren't "battle-ready."

An entire episode for Andrea?!?!?! And somehow she actually wasn't the worst?!?!?!

This week totally boggled my mind. I simultaneously started to care and then started to hate Milton at the same time when for the longest time he was easily a throwaway character for me.

Tyreese appearance was nice but seriously where the **** are they going with his storyline. I don't give a **** what happened between him and beard guy/future zombie fodder before they found the prison. These characters haven't done enough of anything to warrant any investment on my part. The only reason I care about Tyreese is that I like the actor.

The Governor was in fine (and by that I of course mean terrible) form morphing into mantracker. His supervillain skills are really coming into their own. He whistles now too, which I'm sure is supposed to convey some deep-seeded insanity while also increasing the tension of his manhunt on Andrea.

Seriously, why did she go into that warehouse? I suppose the real question is how did the Governor know to follow her in there but again he's a supervillain, dummy. So yeah, when I'm on the run, I'm not stopping somewhere with road access. I'm continuing to book it across the countryside and forcing mantracker to get out of his truck or continue to be one step away. But sure, nothing could possibly go wrong in this warehouse. They have seriously started to just devolve into the most simple of horror movie tropes at this point, which is characters doing completely inexplicable things that only serve to drive plot and increase tension and they are doing so essentially just to fill in the episodes until the finale.

Just got the new Survival Instinct WD game for PS3 - maybe 1/3 of the way through it and all I can say is CASH GRAB. Seems just thrown together - a bit of backstory on Daryl & Merle but the gameplay is mediocre and the graphics look 10 years old.

Was really looking forward to it, as its the story of Daryl and Merle before they met up with the rest - the voice acting is good but that's about it...

Still going to finish it and maybe try for all the trophies (I doubt I'll be able to stand playing it that much) but I would not recommend it. Rent it if you are going to play it, I regret spending the release price on it.
