Giordano looks rusty/out of game-shape. Will be a good buy-low a month from now.

He should probably sit anyways. He is having a hard time adjusting to the NHL. Maybe watching from the press box will do him good.

Hi all.
I was counting on a bounceback year from Gio, but instead I'm getting a kick in the nuts. I need to drop someone to take Patches off of IR, and it's going to be either Salo or Gio. I'll likely keep Gio, because I can't help but think that if the Flames keep losing, changes will be made.....perhaps he can find his way back on to PP1. What do Flames fans in the know think of this hypothesis? I don't know the coach, so I can't say for sure. Is Gio stuck on PP2, or is there a chance he reclaims the spot?

Any Flames homers (or followers) out there who can advise on the following:
For next week only, would you rather Backlund or Stajan? By way of background, this is normally not the way I roll. But I'm fighting for my playoff life after a couple poor weeks. I have thus decided to throw quantity over quality at my remaining opponents given some disappointments from some (several) of my core players, whereby I'm sitting good but non-stud players with fewer games for lesser players who've been playing well and have more weekly games -- if I have to go down, I might as well go down swinging. This week it's Matt Cullen who drew into the lineup employing that strategy (2 assists last night, oorah!), but next week, Cullen gets the boot (3 games) and in a Thursday to Thursday setting, the Flames play 5 games. So I'm planning to pickup and send one of Backlund or Stajan out there in the lineup. Who's the better choice with the categories in my league sig? Any input appreciated!

So if Kipper is indeed retiring, who do the Flames go to in goal for next year? One of their prospects? Trade? Sign a free agent?
I think they should trade with the Flyers for Bryzgalov... |

Karri Ramo seems like the front-runner right now. At least if you're looking inside the organization.
Jay Feaster says his scouts say he's the best goalie not in the NHL right now, and I think they acquired him last year knowing Kipper was probably gone at years end. He'll definitely compete for the #1 role. Tho i'm sure they'll explore free agent/trade options.
