Hey they won a game. I feel like giving the Sharks players some time with DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba. "It's okay to lose, as long as you have fun!" I swear that's their mentality.

Anyway, Couture had a big night and he's the main guy they need to hold onto. Him, Pavelski, Burns (I think) and anyone else can be shipped out.

Sharks traded Douglas Murray to the Penguins for a 2013 2nd rounder. Pittsburgh got some grit, and the Sharks get a 2nd 2nd rounder in 2014 if Murray resigns with the Penguins. If I'm Murray, I'm ecstatic right now.

So with Boston losing out on Iginla, I would not be surprised at all if they are now more serious about trading for Clowe. One thing that I've thought about is that Boston wants a D-man as well. How badly could they want Boyle? A package for Boyle and Clowe would be pretty hefty. I doubt one team could pull it off. A couple 1st rounders would be swapped and some good prospects as well as a position player.

I've been hanging on to Pavelski in hopes he'd turn it around... didn't want to trade him and get below market value. With 4 points in 3 GP (game 3 still going right now) there may be some hope yet. How has he been playing? I haven't been able to catch any games, but want to know if he is looking great again or if its just a small tease. Any insight would be awesome!

Another shutout for Niemi. If I'm not mistaken that's 2 in a row. Pretty slick. This team has been playing a lot better since they traded Murray. Makes me wonder if they don't trade Clowe now. I think they still do as they know they won't be able to sign him for the money that he will want. Unless they trade a different big name player. I don't see them being able to trade Marleau as his wife is from San Jose and he doesn't want to leave. Stupid NMC/NTC. I hate those right now.

They also seem to be playing better since Havlat returned.

That second line does well when Havlat is healthy. He brings speed they don't always have and Wingels has speed and he's been doing a lot with the opportunity he's getting right now.

As for Pavelski, he's too good to continue to let you down. He's been relegated to third line duty at times, but he'll probably end up back on the 1st line at some point here.

Yah I've had Niemi all season. Faltered along with rest of team last month or so, but wih those 2 SHO is the number one overall player (not just goalie) in my fantrax league.

Also traded for Burns, Boyle and Marleau at deadline hoping SJ might turn it around, looking good so far.

They have too much talent to stay down for long. THey're still a team that will give any team they play a rough time in the playoffs. They won't lose easily. With the way teams like the Blues,Ducks, and Detroit are playing right now, watch them jump up to like 4th or 5th in the Western conference by the end of the season. Maybe even higher, but I don't see the Ducks staying down for long.

Handzus is officially dealt to the Blackhawks for SJs 4th round pick coming back. So that's nice. Plus, Handzus was terrible both years in SJ. So glad they even got a 4th rounder for him. This sheds some salary for this year as the Sharks start working on getting their ducks in a row for next season.

CLowe rumors are going crazy. Well they were this morning, now it's the lull before the nes breaks out. Curious to see if the Sharks make Clowe a healthy scratch tonight. If so, expect something by the end of the night or early next morning.

I'm actually excited for once about the Sharks. I've been ticked about how DW has handled things and wanted him to retool this team quicker. The only bummer is they haven't tried to move a guy like Marleau. I think he would be the best player to move. He or Boyle. I'd rather keep Boyle, but This team does need a 'refresh' (one of DW's words). I just don't see Marleau willing to waive is clause. Oh well, I guess we'll deal with that.
