I offered more than that to the Backstrom owners in both my leagues this season when the Caps were slow out of the gate. Both turned me down.

The Caps seem to be picking it up of late. I would be happy to acquire Backstrom for this price.

Keep in mind Scheifele has only had a couple of cups of coffee in the NHL (albeit didn't look bad) and will need an adjustment period (not likely coming in as a PPGer) and Boedker has looked very good in PHX, but we are talking about PHX, who has alot of trouble scoring. Boedker's upside is heavily curtailed in the defense first system being employed there.

Even in a 20 team league, that's underpayment.

That's a deal you have to make. Scheifele could be great but if he is it will be a few years.

Three time defending league champion!

I take Backstrom in a heart beat. Then I might campaign to dump the owner that traded Backstrom.

Backstrom is only 25 and he's had a rare 100 point season... he's having his sixth consecutive productive season...

Schiefele (got him in one pool) - unknown upside - yes he's an excellent prospect. Unlikely to have an upper window that competes with Backstrom. Still represents a lot of risk.

Boedker - very similar to Schiefele, but 23 years old. Finally seems to be having a break out season in a low scoring environment. Hoping for 60 point pace is what his owners need to be hoping for. Hoping he can elminate the risk, we associate with him. Good first step.

Only if Schiefele and Boedker hit their upside, would a contemplation be appropriate. Add in the risks associated and it's not close. (unless we wish to contemplate salary cap leagues in which large rosters and small cap are used)

There's no way anyone is actually considering Boedker/Schiefle for Backstrom right? You are just thinking about offering that? It's a huge underpayment. Not even close in my opinion. If it's on the table, take it immediately.
