Goalie cats:
W, L, GA, GAA, SV, SV%, SHO I'm in first place, playing 2nd place. So, I am behind on my goalies with two bad starts on Tuesday (Rask 4GA/.846SV% and Bryz 4GA/.800SV%). My opponent had Lundqvist with 2GA/.920SV%. This has resulted in my losing all categories except SHO and SV (my 2 starts to his 1) Tonight he has Lundqvist @ NYI and Lehtonen @ LA. Tonight I only have Bryz vs Pit (Rask is not playing tonight) 1) I'm already losing, do I start Bryz vs Pit anyway or sit him? 2) I am thinking of dropping Doan to pick up a 4th goalie since I won't need Doan the rest of the week and I may need to try to redeem my goalie stats. Goalies available rest of week: Allen @PHO, @SJ, @ANH (SJ/ANH back to back so guaranteed 2 starts) Markstrom @WAS, WPG, MON (WAS/WPG back to back to should get 2 starts) Khudobin (guaranteed all BOS starts) Who should I take a chance on just this week only? I'm thinking Allen cause he plays for the better defensive team. However, Markstrom has been really solid his 3 starts this season (small sample size but good starts on a bad defensive team) Down to Allen or Markstrom. What do you guys think?

Start EVERYBODY you can.
There is nothing to gain with sitting on bad statistics. At least go after the "quantity" statistics like W & SV. |

With Rask possibly not playing tonight, I can pick up an extra goalie for tonight or possible another night. Would you pick up Jake Allen or Markstrom just for this week? Or consider Khudobin against TOR tonight? Or even if Rask plays, would you just pick up Jake or Markstrom and bench Bryz vs PIT tonight? Allen @PHO, @SJ, @ANH (SJ/ANH back to back so guaranteed 2 starts) Markstrom @WAS, WPG, MON (WAS/WPG back to back to should get 2 starts) Khudobin (guaranteed all BOS starts) I'm thinking Allen @ PHO may be good as StL has a good defensive system that bodes well for their goalies.

A team that sits on really bad goalies and doesn't play any more might only win L & GA.
A teams that rolls a ton of bad goalies can still win SV & SA. 2-2. But at least with rolling a bunch of bad goalies you MIGHT have a chance to take W, get a SO, possibly have a turn around game that gives you a shot at GAA & SV%. I'd grab Markstrom. |
