Thumbs up Bruce Boudreau

Just absolutely funny to see how many people were so critical of this guy with his time in DC. In 2006 he took the Hershey Bears to the Calder Cup, they won. In 2007 he took them to the Calder Cup again where they lost. He took over a struggling Capitals team that was 6-14-1 and proceeded to go 37-17-7 from there. Next season they won the Southeast Division title, and Boudreau won the Jack Adams award. While Boudreau was there the capitals went 50-24-8, 54-15-13, 48-23-11, and also won their one and only Presidents Trophy. All I could ever remember hearing is that anyone's grandma could have coached the Capitals and came up with the same record because they had insane superstars in Ovechkin, Green, Semin, Backstrom. It's no coincidence that under Boudreau, ALL of these players had career years, but now they're all underperforming in DC. (Of course Semin moved on and is doing great).

In the 2011-2012 season Boudreau lost control of his team and was eventually fired, but was quickly hired by the Anaheim Ducks. After a learning curve last year left the Ducks out of the playoffs, The Ducks are now 16-3-3 under Boudreau this season. The thing that I like most about him is he doesn't solely rely on the big guns (Getz/Perry). If you're playing good that game, you are going to get the ice time. We are getting the secondary scoring that we never seemed to get out of Carlyle, (Cogliano with 14pts in 22g?) and that's a huge reason for success (not to mention Fasth's great play). It's just fun to see because as soon as he was fired in Washington I was hoping that we would snatch this guy up (because similar to Boudreau - Carlyle had lost his lockeroom in Anaheim). It's paying off well, and I hope this guy can lead the Ducks back to being a consistent top dog in the west.

Anyways sorry for the rant, but I just never seem to see this guy get that much credit when he is one of the better coaches in the NHL. Their just always seems to be an excuse for him "lucking" in to good seasons or something.

Yeah he's awesome.

He gets credit. He has the record for fastest coach ever to reach 200 or 300 wins (cant remember) in the history of the NHL. People know about this guy trust me.

Also every second word he speaks is an f-bomb so thats pretty awesome too.
