Default D-men you'd buy low on right now?

Any particular defensemen you guys are looking at for a buy-low opportunity?

Just about to pull the trigger on Callahan+Doughty for Iggy. I'm sick of dealing with Doughty, and my RWs could use a upgrade with the injuries I have.

The waiver wire currently has

Dillon
J-Bo
Voynov (strongly considering grabbing him with LA heating up and Doughty not)
L. Schenn
Robidas
M. Staal

In a 1-yr I'd make the deal, then pick up Voynov.

OYL, I would definitely do that. Callahan is useless, and Doughty doesn't show signs of picking it up.

I strongly suggest you take Voynov!
He looks to be the #1 in the upcoming seasons, and is already performing decently well this season.
Who's J-Bo?

1) How in the hell did you get that deal? I'd trade Callahan & Doughty for Iginla in a heartbeat.

2) I'd go with Voynov as well since your league seems to value offense more.

If you are looking for candidates I would consider Weber, Pietrangelo (silent as of late) or Byfuglien.

Thanks for the advice guys. Will rep in a moment. I too thought the trade was too good to be true, but he is a Flames hater, so I'm cashing in on that.

Unfortunately Voynov got snagged as soon as I posted this (I wonder if they read the same forum... ) would you grab any of..

Bouwmeester (heating up)
M. Staal
Bogosian
Dillon
Depres
Robidas
Tyutin

I feel like my best bet is to trade for a slumping d-man but I don't want to wait too long on this trade, as he may pull it off the table. I've never been one for making trades without filling the hole it would make.

I have Tyutin and Staal,, between the two I'd take Staal but i can't say I'm confident he will bring great numbers. But he's done me well.

currently Leading A and in PPP, but only Assists has a cushion. tied for last in hits (next person is 30-40 hits ahead), middle ground in ATOI, and 4th for +/-.

Thanks for the advice. I was looking at Staal or Bouwmeester. Fowler has just been dropped to the wire too, but it doesn't look like he is offering much to ANA with Souray and Beauchemin leading the offense.

Bouwmeester, Robidas, Bogosian, and Dillon are all worthy pickups, depending on where you want to sit on the proven vs prospect scale.

For me, Bogosian has the highest upside of that entire list.

I'm back!
Honestly, within a OYL it's not that big of a deal you couldn't get Voynov.
M. Staal will NOT keep this pace up. He is a stay-at-home D man through and through.

Bouwmeester vs Bogosian vs Tyutin.

Firstly, +/- is a wash among the three.
All 3 of them are pretty soft too so PIM can't really be compared.
PP:
Bouw doesn't get PP1 time.
Bog is getting some with Enstrom out but still, Jets like to play 4F + Buff most of the time.
Tyutin gets #1 PP time for sure with JJ & Wiz out.
Unfortunately, Tyutin has the worst SOG of the 3 and Bog shines here.
Why does SOG matter? Generally with more SOG, the more goals they're attempting to get at.
More chances = more goals. Goals > Assists.
Thus I'd take Bog because Tyutin only sets up and the only way Bouwmeester will get a point on EV is off some forward chain of passing.

Bog also has a higher pedigree than the rest of 'em.
