Default Studs & Duds - Sunday 3/03

Studs

The Italian Stallion – Mike Cammalleri scored his team leading 7th and 8th goals of the season against the hated Vancouver Canucks in a 4-2 win. Cammalleri celebrated by eating some Delissio pizza, “Just like mamma used to make.”

“If my big bro can do it, so can I!” – Mikko Koivu did not want his older brother Saku get all the headlines this weekend as Mikko equalled his brothers production with 1G and 2A for 3 Point performance in a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Despite the great night, Mom still likes Saku best.

It’s not “Raw”, It’s Roy – As in Derek Roy. The Dallas Stars forward showed everyone he still has some gas left in his tank after all as he had 1G and 2A for 3 Pts in a 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Roy also had the GWG, 2 hits and 2 SOG and was a plus 2.

Duds

Anyone watching the Flames/Canucks game? – The Edmonton Oilers were during the 2nd period of their game Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild. The Oilers failed to register a single shot during the 2nd period and were outshot 18-0. The Oilers went 23:35 between shots allowing the opposing goalie Nicklaus Backstrom time to train wreck some threads on Dobber.

Don’t play me on Sundays! – This might be Roberto Luongo’s last Sunday Night game for a long time. After giving up 8 goals last Sunday to the Detroit Red Wings, Luongo was lit up again on Sunday Night giving up 4 goals in a 4-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. After the loss Luongo was quoted as saying “Its ok that I am not worried about my play on Sundays, It’s not like the Canucks are going to trade me.”
