Hopefully I'll get to try some good ones when I'm over in England for a few weeks.
You went to England for sandwiches? That's dedication, my friend...if not somewhat obessive.

Red Dog beer is made over at the huge Miller Brewing Company, or sometimes sold under the name "Plank Road Brewery". The macro-lager is sort of a step up from grabbing a case of "Milwaukee's Best"(which still isn't saying much). Is was bigger in the 90's, but not so much now. However, I think you can still find it every now and then...

It reminds me of "Icehouse Beer"... The first beer I ever drank too much and spent half the night vomiting over. Ah, college... Pass.

Pretty dark for a pilsner... Pretty tasty stuff from arguably the best brewer in Wisconsin!
I'm heading to Detroit, Cleveland, and Pitts for a ball trip with the boys in July.....will I find New Glarus pretty easily? I was in Chicago a couple of years back and found it fairly easy....what a great brewery!

Umm... I haven't gone yet. (I leave tomorrow... oh shit)

And secondly, let's not dismiss the appeal of a good bacon sarnie.

Unfortunately no.

It's only sold in Wisconsin and sometimes around Chicago. Definitely worth a pick-up if found in the western U.S. Great Lakes.

If you're heading to some of the U.S. cities around Lake Erie, you should be scooping up some brews from the Great Lakes Brewery (Cleveland). High quality stuff... I reaaaaly wish they'd distribute farther west towards me. Where to begin with this list?!?

Enjoy your trip!

Enjoy your trip!
I'll have to keep my eyes open. Our first stop in Cleveland is lunch at the Great Lakes Brewery. It's as much a beer trip as a baseball adventure. 9 days, 8 nights, 8 MLB games, and 5 breweries.

You can't start the trip any better than that! Cheers!

Just finished up a bottle of Red Chair NWPA. One of the best Pale Ales you can get. At the very least it's the best balanced one I've found. Hop forward, but not overpowering, really let's the other flavors shine as well. Damn tasty, even when paired with something as lowbrow as chicken-fried steaks and sawmill gravy.

Mmmmm...lowbrow is good. Just can't have it as often as I used too.

Hey thanks for pushing me to the Abbey, finishing my last two tonight. Mrs. Bomm and I are steppin for the eve so if we're going where I think we're going it will be Hennepins for the remainder of the night. I'll suffer I suppose...

Oh the hardships of being forced to drink not but the beers of one of the best breweries in the world. I have faith that ye shall suffer not at all....until tomorrow morning.

That Abbey Ale is a top shelf Dubbel. Glad you enjoyed it....not that there was ever a doubt.
