I wouldn't brag with Holtby's performance this year. 3.37 GAA and .896 SV%.

Erskine is a solid, physical bottom-pairing D-man. Not like they gave Jeff Finger money to him. This is pretty much going rate for his kind of UFA D-men.

Holtby had a terrible start but has played very well lately. I think this is a good deal for Washington. Not sure if it means Neuvirth will get moved but Hotlby would benefit having an experienced backup.

I find it unlikely Neuvy gets moved to Vancouver.

I felt like Holtby really got thrown under the bus to start the season. I knew every game he played was going to be brutal before they started. He's really turned it on lately and the team looks confident in their goalie (something they were missing earlier in the year). They also appear to have tightened up defensively somewhat. He's been making fantastic saves and has been giving the caps a chance to win at least everytime I've seen him play lately.
