Default Stastny for Toews/Zajac?

I am in a keeper league and my roster is as follows:

C Datsyuk, HSedin, P.Stastny, A.Kopitar
RW Jagr, Alfredsson, Hejduk, Williams
LW Parise, Zetterberg, DSedin
D Souray, Schneider, Timonen, Pitkanen, BCampbell

I am tempted to do this deal b/c I have Parise, and he played on the 2nd line in NJ last year w/ Zajac. Toews can make an immediate impact in Chicago if he plays w/ Havlat, Lang, Ruutu, etc. On the other hand, Hejduk isn\'t a bad linemate as well. With the addition of Smyth, Colorado has a lot of firepower with Smyth, Stastny, Hejduk, Wolski, Svatos, Sakic, etc. I think I know your answers, but wanted to get other opinions.

Are you trying to win this year? Is this a money league?

People may disagree with my but my first inclination is to say no, not this year.

Long-term I think Toews and Zajac (maybe Toews alone) will outproduce Stastny, but for this year, I\'d take Stastny and his loaded team. It\'s not like you really need Zajac on top of everything else, is it?

I agree with your assessment. Yes, I am trying to win this year and \"no\", this is not a money league. I may just wait until the draft to see who else I pick up at center b/f I think about dealing Stastny. Thanks for your input.

Stastny is a point per game guy...it\'s not easy to find those as you think...

I\'d go with a sure thing

I\'d gamble... Toews has all the details in his game to be huge!

Stastny almost won the Calder trophy. I am biased on this guy because of his bloodlines. I would love to have him on my team. Colorado is going to be an exciting team. I think Stastny could end up being better than what people have projected. He is a keeper in my world.

I also like Zajac and have no doubt that Toews is going to be great for my Hawks, but I keep Stastny.

If Zajac is the one tempting you, then don\'t do the deal. With the departure of Gomez, Parise may move up to the top line with Elias and Gionta, and Zajac will be left with what...Dainius Zubrus? Ick. I\'d be looking to get something better than Zajac or acquiring him only for the purpose of flipping him for something else.

The real substance of this deal is Stastny and Toews. If you\'re looking to win now, you stick with Stastny and the mighty Avs offence. If you\'re looking to build, tough call. Toews might have an extra 15-20 points of upside over Stastny, but you won\'t see it for a few seasons yet. Keep in mind that Stastny not only had a very good season, but is also very young and improving himself.
