basically means he goes on IR from when the injury occurred. This way, when he's healthy, he can come off sooner as more time has passed. Does that make sense?

I read on CBS that he is now aloowed to come off the IR on Sunday. Does this possibly bode well for him being ready for next week?

Sometimes teams do IR moves retroactively as an indication that players will come off the IR sooner, rather than later.

It'd be best to just keep following this thread to see what's happening from day to day. The sooner he starts skating...the more likley he's nearing a return.

Rick Nash (undisclosed) has been placed on the injured reserve list.
Nash was already ruled out for Saturday's game and is eligible to be activated in time for Tuesday's contest. That being said, given how secretive the Rangers have been about Nash, we're don't like the chances of him playing on Tuesday either.
