Trying to gauge what type of asset I hold in Ryan Ellis. Anyone have any thoughts regarding what type of player he will be? Will he be more valuable in a points only format versus multi-cat? I haven't seen him play too much and he's a bit small.

I guess what I'm really wondering is if he will bring anything to the table for PIM and Hits?

I don't think you should expect a lot of PIMs or hits from Ellis. He is a puck moving Dman that is best suited to QB a powerplay. I see him scoring in the 40-60 point range over his career if he does reach his potential.

Looking at his stats historically, he hasn't taken many penalties and I don't see him as a physical defenseman. He plays more a positional/speed game on defense.
