I can absolutely see where you would either love it or hate it. Much like lamb if I were to draw a food analogy. No middle ground w/either.

Luckily I love both and get to experience their unique aromatic qualities. Earthy.
That Espresso Oak Aged Yeti is an excellent breakfast stout. Goes great with any breakfast food, but I tend to prefer it more with savory than sweet fare. I like to let big stouts like that warm a bit, but sample it right after the pour. The espresso is really dominant when it's cold, in my experience. If you like it, go back and grab all you can as that particular Yeti is seasonal.

Speaking of Yeti, the standard year-round variety is a very good stout, and the four seasonals are just as good. The Belgian Style Yeti is on a whole other level.

If you like Tripels try their Orabelle. That's a seasonal as well, but one worth grabbing while it's out.

Their Titan IPA and Hercules Double IPA are among some of the best in those styles.

Also recommend trying the Claymore Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy, Hoss Rye Lager, and Hades Belgian Style Ale.

That's probably half their lineup. Still their one of the best brewers from the Colorado craft beer crowd, which includes some really good brewers. Avery, Ska, Breckenridge, Left Hand, Oskar Blues, New Belgium, Odells, and lots of small brewpubs. Colorado rivals California for the quality of their craft beers.

IMO, DFH 90 is not a good example of the classic IPA style. DFH 90 is too malt forward to be the the wheelhouse of an IPA. Good beer tho, damn good beer.

Well... just finished bottling up 31x 750ml bottles of IIPA. It is a double IPA by accident. I put dry enzyme in the fermenter to dry out the beer. I did this on purpose, but I did not expect it to ferment every bit of remaining sugar.

For those of you who brew beer, it was a 1.065 start and it finished at 1.000! I could not believe what I was witnessing. Anyways, I tasted a few times over the last couple weeks and it does taste good. I wanted a hop bomb and with that much of the malt fermented, that is what I will get. It didn't seem to thin, but I wont really know what I have until its carbed up. I have high hopes as it was very, very hop forward.

I decided to drink that Sculpin while I bottled my own stuff. The Sculpin was very good. Not mind blowing, but certainly a very good beer indeed. I would defininely recommend it and I would love to get a fresher one. This one was imported in September 2012, so that does mean it was bottled in July/August based on the "enjoy by" date. I bet you it was sublime about 6 months ago.

From my experience brewing my own beer, the hops aroma doesn't last that long. 3 months and it is at its best. So if this beer was brewed 9 months ago it is a little bit past its best. However, I could still tell what they were trying to do with it. I thoroughly enjoyed it even tho it should have been drunk before Xmas.

I didn't think it was that much better than the Big Eye. I plan to get one of those this weekend so I can kind of compare them. Either way, they are both awesome beers.

Sitting here enjoying a bottle of North Coast Pranqster on an unexpected night off. Major snow today, well major by the local standards, lead to that. Foot of snow, seven inches of which fell in two hours. I'm sure my northern brothers would call that flurries.

Upside I don't have to make my usual 300 mile round trip to Lincoln, Ne and back in this mess. Downside my weekend and vacation get off to a late start as we're working tomorrow night to make up for today.

Getting ready to take in the Stars and Canucks shortly. Think I'll have some Ommegang Abbey Ale once I'm done with this Pranqster. What's everybody else drinking on this snowy Thursday night?

Just getting ready to watch the Stars/Nucks as well. Been channel surfing since I got home. I've got a bunch of beer to choose from as I went to a great liqour store last night aftre coaching my kid's playoff game. Lots of new local brews from Central City, some Lagunitas IPA, Driftwood Twenty Pounder (Imperial IPA), fat Tug of course, some local Pilsners, some local 311 Helles Lager....Hmmmm...decisions.

Enjoy the night boys!
