Also factor in Franzen and Bertuzzi being out of the lineup (and Datsuyk as well last night). I wouldn't count on steady production this year.

Dobbs put this guy on my radar before he was drafted and I for that I thank him (credit where credit is due). Since then I've come away impressed in my limited viewings through the years. He's a good skater, seems to have a nose for the net and a decent shot. That being said, he doesn't bring any elite skills to the game and for that reason his upside will always be limited.
Detroit has obviously brought him along slowly but he also hasn't really forced their hand either. His performance this year indicates that he could live up to his 2nd line billing. I expect a slow and steady progression to the high 50 low 60 point range. |
