Chilly... You mentioned about the freshness so I checked the bottle for dates. It past its enjoy by date by 3 months! I'm not happy as that is supposed to be a world class IPA that I paid world class money for ($17). If the hoppy goodness has faded, I won't be getting the proper taste. I'm going back to the store today or tomorrow to exchange.
Thing is... The guy asked me if I needed my receipt. I said no....

Funny thing...the date is only part of it. I've had some older ones that have been great. I've had some 'fresher' ones that were 'off'. Ballast Point has been known to have some bottling issues...they're just about to release Sculpin in cans.
I say crack it.....try it...if it's bad...bring it back and show owner of the shop the bottling date. I'm curious...let us know. Good luck!

I just got back from the beer store. The manager there knows his beer. He told me that the enjoy by date is 3 months past the packaging date. He reckons the beer was brewed roundabout August. He said it would still be good. The distributors must be pissed off to no end. Imagine shipping in crates and crates of this beer (as you would have to to ensure a good margin) and finding out that the expiration date is only a month away. Crazy.
Anyways, I took the guys advise and kept the beer. But now, it needs to chill again, so I wont taste it until tomorrow. I'll certainly let you guys know my thoughts on it. Cheers!

I also picked up a Fuller's London Porter today. Mostly based on your strong recommendation NWO. I'm gonna drink it tonight.

I predict much enjoyment. Unfortunately for me the last trip to the store came up empty for London Porter. Damn and blast! Salut to your good luck in finding it though.

Restocked w/ Lagunitas Sucks (sixer), DFH 90 minute IPA (four pack), and a Yeti Imperial Stout (Espresso/Oak Aged)
They are chillin' at the moment for the 7pm puck drop. Well....ok, maybe 6pm pre-game. 5:30??

Ahhh, you guys get Great Divide up that way. Awesome. Had much experience with their beers? I can recommend pretty much everything in their lineup, but I do have some specific ones.

Well I went with the DFH 90 Min IPA tonight and very happy I did. I am a total newbie when it comes to IPAs, but after only a few sips of this, I can totally see myself becoming a hop-whore. Love the boldness of it. I can absolutely see where you would either love it or hate it. Much like lamb if I were to draw a food analogy. No middle ground w/either. Luckily I love both and get to experience their unique aromatic qualities. Earthy.
