In a straight points pool with a .5 bonus per pp point. Another guy wants Karlsson...looking at his roster his best defence is Ekman-Larsson...with this not being a straight up trade im trying to compensate with a swap of forwards and came up with this

Thornton is solid and OEL definitly has the potential and skill to become very relevant D-man. However Karlsson is elite, in a points only with extra reward for ppp even uber elit.
In context dont trade him for anything less, in a points only that should be a Stamkos, Giroux etc.

Okposo isnt a relevant fantasy option at the moment but I still feel youre give way to much here.

As a Karlsson owner in a very similar scoring format, that isn't nearly enough of a return for him. The only way I would deal him is if I see Crosby, Stamkos, malkin or tavares coming back.

While I totally agree that you should keep on to Karlsson, and I also believe that he is the best offensive defenceman in the league by a large margin, I do think the point can be overstated.

Remember, a couple of years back everyone thought Mike Green was virtually untradeable. Now he's pretty far down on most people's lists.

I'd hang on to Karlsson. But don't expect him to do what he did last year every year. Defenceman are un-effing-predictable.
