I have put out an offer of Pacioretty, Moulson, 7th round pick for his Kessel and a 6th round pick.

Now I feel like this is overpayment and wondering whether I should take this offer off the table before he runs and clicks accept.

This would effectively make my keepers:

Crosby
Seguin
Ryan
Kessel
Karlsson
Rinne
Tarasenko (Rookie)

I'm not trying to win this year, I may just finish in the money but winning isn't my goal this year.. Next year it is. Is this a good move to make?

i am not a Patches fan, and i am ok with Moulson, but this is overpayment. Maybe i am i little biased (Sens fan) but Kessel aint good enough to warrant an offer like that.

Moulson by himself plus the draft swaps (maybe reversed) is closer, but adding in Patches is too much IMO.

If you are going to get Kessel, now is the time to get him before he finally heats up. He's as streaky as it comes, and he just opened up his can of Streak.

That being said, thats an overpayment. Patches and someone not quite as good as Moulson with your pick should do it, but I guess it would also depend on how big of a Leafs fan or Habs fan he is.

Personally, if it was me, I wouldnt have offered that much, especially considering the slow start Kessel has had. Your window for a buy-low is quickly fading.

I don't see this as overpayment, Pac and Moul are 60pt guys in my book while Kessel is 75-80. You're upgrading your keeper which is your stated goal. I'd maybe try to push his pick coming back up, say 3-4th round but otherwise you're getting the best player here imo
