quick and dirty I often use Yahoo because their interface is minimalist soit loads quickly on my phone if I just need to look something up quickly. Like for example I'll often just google "PlayerName Yahoo NHL" and it takes you right to their stats page and you can see at a glance their relevant numbers.

Anything more detailed though nhl.com is the essential source, you can see all the player and team stats, the real-time stats like faceoffs, blocked shots, hits, etc as well as the splits so that's my source for more definitive in depth analysis.

Finally all my leagues right now are in Fantrax so they have live scoring that is custom to your league format which is really nice because you can see things in real time. Also, their player pages now include stats customized to your league scoring in the 'Game Log' section so you can see performance over time for your players, but just with the stats you care about, very handy

I do the same thing here.

It has become habit for me over the years just to type "Backstrom yahoo" into my browser whenever i want to see basic stats. Also a lot less junk to load so I find it way easier on my data plan as well and it's a lot faster.

When I want to do some serious analysis though like finding out who is getting the most PP TOI per game on any given team I'll use NHL.com.
