Default Hall/Yakupov swapping lines

Coach Krueger says he may try Yakupov-RNH-Eberle together against #CBJ along with some additional forward line shuffling

How do you think this change will impact the Oil's top six? I'm specifically interested in how it impact Taylor Hall going from RNH-Eberle to Hemsky-Gagner.

Not much I'd say but it's worth noting that the Hall-Gagner-Hemsky line is going to be asked to do more heavy lifting than the Yakupov-RNH-Eberle line will so maybe there will be a slight drop in points but I don't see anything noticeable happening here because the ice time is still going to be there in droves.

So...

Oil sit 20th in the league, 11th in the West.
T-2nd last for regulation wins.
26th in GF.
27th in GF/G.
16th in GA.
11th in GA/G.
Last in the league in 5v5 goal differential.
8th in PP%.
5th in PK%.
24th in Shots per game.
29th in Shots against per game.
29th in FO%.

What does this tell me?

Without Dubnyk, we'd be worse the worst team in the league. He's the only reason our GA and GA/G aren't in the basement with our other stats.
The only way we can score is on the PP.
Our special teams are good but our 5v5 play is awful.
We're in the league basement in GF, GF/G, 5v5 Scoring Differential, and shots/game despite having one of the most talented top-6 in the leuage.

Karma for the perpetual tanking mode. Seth Jones! Come on down! You're the next contestant on this shit show.

Dyz

I just moved Hemsky for Derek Roy in my league. My reasoning was that Hemsky's value is probably at a high since he's playing w/ Yakupov and that hoping that would continue (or that Hemsky would remain healthy) would be dangerous.

I figure that Edmonton is going to have to make some kind of move to take the next step, and that Hemsky was the the one most likely to be moved.

Thoughts?

It's funny how a team can suck so bad despite having so much talent. Time for them to start evening out the team by trading some of their youth for experience, grittiness and to fill the holes on defense IMO.

It would be downright embarrassing for them to make a run at another #1 draft pick.

I don't think it's funny. It was very predictable.

Oh don't get me wrong, it was very predictable. I always maintained that they would suck given the glaring holes on their roster, and it was hilarious how several on this forum were predicting a deep playoff run.

Doesn't mean it still can't be funny though. They've got the main pieces for a potential dynasty and yet they're so bad haha.

It'll be interesting to see if they can finish ahead of the Sens this season.

It would be sad if they don't.

Can't say I know Tambo's thoughts. He's the most expendable of our top 6F but he's a good player signed to a reasonable contract. Oiler fans have speculated he's been going to get moved for years and it hasn't happened so no idea.
