I currently have 8 d-men with Burns back from IR. I'm thinking of keeping 7. My players are:

1)Campbell
2)OEL
3)Pietrangelo
4)Subban
5)Streit
6)Goligoski
7)Burns
8)Carlson

Available on waivers are:
Visnovsky
Kulikov
Greene

1- Which d-man would you drop and
2- Would you rather have any of the other d-men over my guys?

I know Greene is hot but will he keep it up being on PP2?
Visnovsky looks like he will be getting good opportunities at NYI. Quite like him but not sure if he will be better than my other d-men.

if i were in a mood to gamble i might drop carlson for visno. visno obviously has motivation issues but he has the opportunity to qb the nyi pp; carlson gets very little pp time. if u dont feel like gambling, ur D is solid and i'd sit tight.

I'd drop Carlson. If you want to roster 8 D-men, I would probably take Visnovsky as well to see if he recaptures some of the magic from 2 seasons ago. But you'd probably be just fine with 7 in an 8 team league, no? Seems like there's plenty of good options on the WW if needed in a pinch.

Edit: and re-reading the question, if you're asking whether any of the waiver guys are preferable over the 7 you'd hang onto (after dropping Carlson in my mind), my answer would be no. I'd drop Carlson and stick with your other 7.

Yeah I was thinking of dropping Carlson.

Greene is hot but not sure if he can keep up this pace.
I'm really liking the prospects of Vis because he seems to be getting top PP time along side Streit.

I agree that Carlson is the one to go, and I also share your skepticism over Greene keeping this up -- not just the point-per-game pace he's been on over last half dozen or so, which is ludicrous, but just generally continuing to be a steady contributor.

My view might be colored by the fact that I've been torched by Greene before when picking him up after a good run only to see him go ice cold soon thereafter, but the Devils D-men more broadly just seem to switch on and off in terms of who is leading the way at any point in time. By comparison, I see Visnovsky as more likely to chip in on a consistent basis particularly in light of the fact that I would think his value to the Islanders is very much tied to his production on the man advantange.

Awesome thanks. However I guess for now stick with dropping Carlson and wait for Vis to see if he shows up or not?

I think that's right. Just keep an eye on Vis to see how he performs for the next game or two (particularly compared to Goli and Burns -- I still think I'd rather have both of them over Visnovsky, but your top 5 are untouchable in this situation IMO).

And for what it's worth, Visnovsky looked pretty good with the Isles last night, especially given that he's brand new to the team -- he seemed to fit in well.

I agree with the others. Drop Carlson for Vis.
