Nefarious Ten Pin eh? I like the bowling reference.

Dyz- If you have no wife, kids, or other things keeping you from trying something new it's worth considering. When I was younger I spent 2 years traveling, working odd jobs, and it was a great experience. I am now a mechanic and bartender, but I started off at the company bar backing and washing dishes so you never know where it will take you. Now I own my home and am married.

Ok back to what this thread is about. On tap a few nights ago: some very interesting stuff. I got called in to work for a minor repair on a night they happened to be doing a beer event. Had a Bell's Hopslam out of the firkin, Brooklyn Blast, Deschutes Armory XPA, and Alaskan Hopthermia. Pretty much a smorgasbord of hops. To all you guys that are into Brooklyn, the Blast was awesome. My favorite of the bunch.

Tonight it's a Hamms tallboy for good luck to the Hamms HC (my fantasy team)

Are you on the east coast where this big storm is coming? Hopefully no snow here tonight I have all the windows open after putting finish on my new butcher block countertops and its a nice 30 degrees inside too trying to air the place out.

Kenmore where we are at saw about 10-12 inches. Not as bad as the eastern cities, nor the more northern either (ie, Niagara Falls, Lewiston, Fort Erie, Lewiston/Queenston). Buffalo (downtown and south saw less)

I love it. Plowing out my neighbors, Ida kept going if I hadn't run outta gas.

I just don't like seeing the accidents. That's never fun.

I was in full Peyton Manning mode and called an audible. I went with the hop bomb instead. Had the single bottle of Hop Rod Rye from Bear Republic. A most excellent IPA if I do say so myself....I guess I just did.

That Nefarious Ten Pin was even more boozy then I first realized, so I decided to forego the headaches tomorrow and passed on the 750 of Art of Darkness. I'll try that one later today instead.

Hopefully all my east coast beer loving brothers have plenty on hand to help pass the storm and that they all stay safe.

Morning kids!

Well, it's a busy w/e here. The team I coach is in a big hockey tournament....a min of 5 game sover the next 3 days. We play Game 1 against Whitehorse. Aftre the game, I'm heading to a buddy's place who has managed to horde a stockpile of Lagunitas Sucks. Even though we have access to quite a variety of Lagunitas beer here, Sucks hasn't made it across the border (at least in bottles).

I'm looking forward to the first Sucks of the season....then it's back to the rink for Game 2....and finally home to watch the taile end of the Hockey Day in Canada Games.

What's everyone else got 'on tap' for today?

Just had the first half of that bottle of Art of Darkness. Very very good, reminds me strongly of Trois Pistoles and Maudite. You could say flavor-wise it's a lovechild of sorts, even though it's an Ommegang brew not Unibroue. It's a limited release, one time each year, but if your lucky enough to find it, grab it.

Don't hesitate, don't think it over, just grab it.

That was a cask pour of Hopslam but it was also on tap. Not really into the cask beers, warm and flat IMO. Lagunitas Sucks is pretty much awesome. I happened to stop in the store a few weeks ago and they were doing a tasting and I was sold on that alone plus it's a funny story. That was also on tap that night. Nothing exciting tonight though, balls to the wall busy, had a couple Surlys afterwards hoping my fantasy teams fared well despite not being able to check in with early games.

That's awesome.....and Sucks......it sure doesn't...truly one of my favourite Double IPA's.

When I come to Minnesota in June, we're hitting Surly......I've never had a sample of even one of their beers as they have ZERO distribution out WEst here, not even into Washington State. Needless to say, I can't wait.
