Mercy, that's an interesting article. I grew up as a math guy and every occasional while I get into discussions (arguments) with the non-numbers crowd (the "gut feeling" crowd, that can't back their arguments with numbers) about data collection and analysis. I believe that even things like emotional decisions and (heaven forbid I say this) "falling in love" could be predicted with very good accuracy if we had enough data collection. So - Netflix is doing it with our watching habits. Cool, I say. Sometime at the end of our era, I believe that data collection will be so thorough that we really won't be making our own decisions so much any more. Our decisions will simply be delivered to us & we will accept that. Sort of a depressing thought... to some. 1984... we're on our way. (ps. Not meaning to take this thread off on a tangent - but numbers-stuff I love.) |

Spartacus was an excellent one.
If any of you are into the brit comedy/drama series... (and I haven't read all 19pages, so I apologize if already commented on ) Shameless, *be sure its the UK version available on Netflix, and not the sanitized US copy* and The Misfits are excellent shows. Couldn't even count how many times these shows have left me laughing so hard I can't breathe...or just wondering how the hell they get past the censors ! .

Don't know if it was answered but I saw someone asked what Banshee is about...
It's basically working of the premise that a bad ass con steals the identity of the new town sheriff and runs around town kicking ass and taking names his own way...filled with some interesting supporting cast/characters, tons of violence and nudity...like I said, a wild ride for sure! Made it to episode 7 of Fringe tonight, still in season 1...really enjoying this. Walter is a trip!

Anyone catch HISTORY's first ever scripted series, Vikings? The first episode premiered last Sunday. It was actually fantasitc. I didn't expect HISTORY to put out a show with that much potential, especially since it's their first scripted series.
Then again, the creator of the show also created The Tudors which I've heard good things about. He also produces The Borigas which is arguably the most underrated show on television.

Going through The Wire for the third time. Haven't watched it from start to finish in about two years. Just wrapping up Season 2.
What a depressing ending to a great season. It took me a second viewing to really appreciate Season 2, but it introduces us to so many good characters - Prop Joe, Cheese, Nick Sobotka, Frank Sobotka, Brother Mouzone, and so on.
