I have been offered two separate deals, both tough decisions.....1) Frolov for Bergeron, and 2) Horton and Olesz for Hemsky.. I am torn on both, more so on trading Bergeron. Should I pull the trigger on one, none, or both?

Welcome IslanderFan! Sorry about your recent acquisitions. Comrie/Guerin.
Frolov for Bergeron: I would do this deal. Frolov has a better supporting cast in L.A. He had 71 points (35g,36a) in 82 games. Bergeron had 70 points (22g, 48a) in 77 games. Frolov is 4 years older but is still only 25. Bergeron is also a very good player but I would rather own Frolov. Horton and Olesz for Hemsky: I would do this deal but I would also consider a change if it is possible, if a change isn\'t possible then I would still do the deal. Horton: (22 years old) 62 points (31g,31a) in 82 games. Olesz: (21 years old) 30 point (11g, 19a)in 75 games. Hemsky: (24 years old) 53 points (13g, 40a) in 64 games. The change: I don\'t know how you feel about owning two players from the same team. Would need to know more about your pool. Do you dress a lineup? I would try to get Olesz replaced with a player from another team just so you don\'t have two from Florida. I consider that Horton for Hemsky would be a good deal. Horton is a goal scorer, I don\'t know if you have point differential for goals/assists, but I would prefer to own Horton. Hemsky does not have a supporting case at thepresent time. I like the upside of Horton better than that for Hemsky. Hemsky could also be \'bandaid\'. Bottomline: If you own Bergeron and Hemsky. I would do both of these deals. Thanks for the reply and I just pulled the trigger on the first deal and traded Bergeron for Frolov. Goals do count for more in my league. Regarding Hemsky, he obviously has no supporting cast and if the last part of the season without Smyth was any indication of that offense, this could be a bad season for him. He does however have that aura of great potential. Dobbs has him ranked at #29 and Horton at #81. I know that list is not a hard and fast rule, but thats still a big difference and makes me think that potential in Hemsky is something I should be a little more afraid of dealing than I am.

I also think that Oleaz will be a dark horse this year and it wouldn\'t hurt you to stick with him as well as Horton, unless the guy you can change him for is too good to pass up... |

Frolov for Bergeron: No
Horton/Olesz for Hemsky: Yes, at this point, I think Florida has more offensive firepower with Horton, Olesz, Jokinen, Weiss, Bouwmeester.

Frolov for Bergeron: I know you did the deal and I don\'t blame you. I look at it as a toss-up. Figure Bergeron will probably get more points but Frolov will score more goals.
I\'d trade Hemsky for Horton and Olesz. I dealt Hemsky last season primarily because he plays with no offensive talent and he won\'t shoot the puck. Obviously try and switch Olesz for someone who isn\'t a Panther but if it\'s someone less good just take Olesz and be happy. |
