Does this huge goon actually have hands? I see he scored 42 goals in 60 games while playing with Plymouth in the OHL in 2006-2007. I had him on my farm team as a possible source of PIMs. I ended up dropping him in favor of nabbing Peter Regin from the waiver wire. Now im wondering if he can contribute in more than one stat category and might be worth a re-add?

I don't really see him scoring very much in the NHL, he was on the team with Neal... I went to a bunch of those games. Sestito was always gritty and more goon than scorer, Neal was gritty too but was much more talented skill wise. I don't see Sestito getting more than 10-15 goals a season with 3rd or 4th line minutes.

He does have a scoring touch. Terrible fighter though.

No, Sestito doesn't have scoring touch.
Both goals last night were forehand/backhand/5-hole. That's a pre-set mind-set for many less-skilled hockey players when they are in alone on the goalie. (It's my "default" move too... and I know many others who preset their mind this way). It's a move that is almost always there, if you can hit the spot. That is probably the only scoring move that works at EVERY level of hockey. But how often are those breakaway ("in-all-alone") opportunities going to present themselves? Go watch the goals from last night. As dekes go... they are pretty... and pretty-standard. If Sestito had sniped a couple goals (as we've seen from a guy like David Clarkson or Ryane Clowe or Milan Lucic) than you might invest in him a little more heavily. But... the pure lack of SOG from Sestito in his short NHL career-length is enough to understand that he's never going to be an NHL-goal scorer. Last night's game was just lightning striking twice. Invest in him purely for PIM and do NOT expect more than 4-5 goals per 82 game season. |

seems like when he does shoot, he scores! 4 on 13 isn't bad but 13 in 32 games is.
