4/4.
Simple & accurate... and well-said.

Karlsson is also far better defensively than most give him credit for. People tend to confuse physical play with solid play when it comes to defensemen. Karlsson is probably the best defenseman in the league (he or Keith) at stealing the puck from an attacker and outracing them to loose pucks. He also has improved his reads and positioning significantly since his rookie year.

Schultz > Karlsson

Just kidding............................

But to be bold, Schultz will win a Norris before Karlsson.

I don't know if I would say no defenceman since Bobby Orr has arrived with such dominance. Tyler Myers was pretty awesome as a rookie. So was Nick Lidstrom. Phaneuf was loved as a rookie because of his scoring and hitting. Mark Howe had 80 points as a rookie (which is the record for defencemen rookie scoring). P.K. Subban had lots of media hype his rookie season after a strong playoffs the year before.

That's why I wrote it................

I've watched every Oil game, and Schultz' two way play is solid. He can match up against other team's first lines and will only get better with experience. Small sample size for sure, but it's obvious already that he's wise beyond his years out there.

Offensively, the two will be close over the next 3 years.

Edit: I thought Karlsson was runner-up last year, see now that he won it. My bad. Cheers.

Didn't Karlsson win one last year?
