Well that's certainly one you did see or hear everyday. Now the one about it being off-kilter does peak my interest. Hell I survived that VooDoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale from Rogue why not this eh? Speaking of weird doughnut/beer hybrids from Rogue. I'm not sure the world, let alone my stomach, is ready for their latest collaboration with VooDoo Doughnut, Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Ale. Ummm, yeah, right, uhh, I think I may pass on that one.

It will definitely be interesting as sour beer is brewed with wild yeast. Meaning, they do not add yeast and keep it in a sterile environment. They do the opposite with sour beer. They actually have an open fermentation and allow whatever is in the air to ferment it. Traditionally all beer was brewed like this. That was before they understood yeast. This sour or lambic style is a throwback to the old days when they used to prey for the beer gods to make their wort beer.

I think it would really pair well with wood smoked bbq...more pork than fowl. I like it but ya have to be in a mood for the sweetness.

Just enjoying my first ever 311 Helles Lager, by Coal Harbour Brewing...a new start up brewery from Vancouver. Really nice. So new, it's not even rated on Beer Advocate yet.

I boight this 12 oz bottle back last Aug on our way to the Bend BrewFest. I though there was a mistake on my bill.....the bottle was $11.99!! It's super unique. Very Boozy, with hints of pinot, whiskey, cedar plank...weird, but delicious.

Headed to the liquor store next Friday for a restock. Top of the list is to find as many bottles of Blvd Bourbon Barrel Quad as I can. Working on my next to last 750 of Saison-Brett so there will be room for the BBQ. And looking to lay my hands on a bottle or two of the good Scotches Bomm and Spitball recommended. Still looking for any input on good Irish Whiskeys if anybody has any. I've tried Jameson, Bushmills, and Clontarf, preferring Clontarf if that gives any idea where my tastes go.
