Back when I first joined these forums I got into a bit of a spat on one the threads and started to be a bit of a dick. Shoeless called me on it (and maybe neg-repped me) either in the thread or PM, I don't remember and while I didn't much like it at the time I think it was an excellent preemptive strike.

Looking back, I could have gone the abrasive ******* route (because, let's face it, I'm good at it) but I was given the distinct impression that wouldn't fly. Frankly, I'm damn glad I didn't go that route because you learn so much more around here when you show some decorum and mutual respect.

So I would like to thank Shoeless (belatedly) for smartening my ass up, and Commish for standing up for the finer principles of Dobberhockey.

I'd also like to thank Bondon for not giving me goalie advice at any point.

One thing that I detest more than name calling is people offering advice without looking at scoring categories etc. Also oversensationalization given advice as if it's gospel. I think we have to be very thorough in offering the best advice possible..... someone is gonna end up trading Crosby for Tarasenko if we aren't careful

As a poster who likes some of the touchier subjects on this forum, I have to say that it is understood that sometimes things may get a little heated.
Sometimes things get said that should not.
Sometimes things get taken out of context.
Sometimes two people will never see eye to eye.

But if you truly care about your voice being heard, and want members of this forum to take you seriously at all, you just need to be aware of these things.

If someone is a jerk, call them on it, in a respectful way.
If you are a jerk, apologize and do it properly.
Same goes if you unintentionally offend someone.
No harm ever came from a sincere apology.

Some of my favorite threads are those with people who completely disagree with me. By acting with a bit of respect, I am assured to do it again one day.

This is still the best hockey forum I know, and I wish I could be more involved. Especially with those of you that I have so enjoyed arguing with.

Totally agree with the Commish on this one. Ever since the lockout ended things have gotten really hostile around here. Good to have guys like Bomm and Loch to add humor to the threads when all else is lost.

Also, it may be just me but it appears Lucifer316 is eerily similar to tequilamonster minus the Crosby and Turris hate. Same one line at a time delivery are among some of the things I find similar. No hate on either, just seem very similar is all.

Most everyone on here is great to talk to, and even the people who do take it to far are usually ok. Hopefully everyone can pluck their wedgies and this rage-fest that's been going on lately can end.
