Dyz...I keep forgetting to ask....have you been able to find any Fat Tug IPA up in the Great White North there? It's right up there with Central City Red Racer...but I'm not sure if you guys get any Driftwood?

You managed to find a Hop Zombie! If it made it to you reasonably fresh, I think you will be very pleased. Let me know how you like it. I believe this represents NZ beer very well.

I look for it here and there but have never seen it. Seems Alberta had become an abyss for good IPA's.
I've pretty much given up on finding a fair drinker for IPA - smash bomb is decent ill admit and amnesiac is good but I can only find it in big bottles. I do stil need to give paddock wood a try though.

Yea, I grabbed it because I remember you talking about it but I didn't know what brewery it was by so I just bought it in the hopes it was. Wasn't cheap - about the same as HopWired for cost - I think I paid $9 for a bottle. Looking forward to trying it though.

$9 a bottle is cheaper than here. I have to pay $12 for it here. I think it fair value for the beer.

How is that even possible? We're half a planet away and it's cheaper?

We pay $12 NZD. Which is a bit less I think. But still...

Dyz, make sure you pay particular attention to the aroma of the beer. I haven't had anything like it.

$9.00 Canadian Dollars = NZD 10.85

Crazy world.

I do recall the aroma as well......it was great...and the bottle was quite fresh despite the cross world travel.

Default Finally!

My first delivery of my 12 Belgians arrived. Looks great too! Just polished off a St. Bernardus Tripel - those Trappistes know there sh!t. Great tripel.

And the other was a Augustijn Dark Brune. Excellent. Just smooth throughout, nutty ale. Great sipping.

Some others I look forward too:

Piraat
Gulden Draak
Leute Bokbier
Grimbergen Dubbel (and Blonde)
Affligem Blonde

...and others! Excuse me I have a Sabres game to watch.

Gonna be tough...my next twelve aren't due 'till March. My wife rocks!
