I do that too. Its not collusion its being a great GM. You can pick a player off waivers and trade him to a GM who is paying much attention. You end up with a free draft pick.

I would say it's more of Player A taking advantage of knowing that Player B wants said player

It depends on the player and the pick exchanged. Nothing wrong with the process.

This has happened multiple times in one league I am in. Completely legit imo, and has never been complained about in our league.

we usually cover this in our rules by having some language to the effect of:
trades may include any and all fantasy assets with the exception of: -exception1 -exception2 etc. the exceptions of course are completely optional but you often need to place practical restrictions on trades (for example, we only allow trading draft picks 3 years into the future because it gets too crazy to track and you don't want a scenario where a GM trades away the future of a team and then quits because you'll never be able to get a replacement GM). But basically the approach we usually take is that as long as the parties involved in the trade are swapping things that have fantasy value then its A-OK

Alright ladies et gents. I have to revisit this because something of a similar nature has come up in my league again.
Player A has used 2/2 free agent adds for the week and has contacted all other GMs to make a pickup for him in exchange for a pick (his last pick last round). Player B has agreed to do the pickup and exchanges goaler for the pick. Player A then goes on to win the week now do to the extra points and extra goalie start. Player A is tied with his opponent this week for a playoff spot. So by this course of action another GM in this league has determined the outcome of the standings by making an add for another player who was out of pickups and handing Player A the win and subsequently the last playoff spot on the year. So I ask you collusion? Bullshit move? Borderline collusion?

It sounds like this is is still a legitimate transaction in your league, according to league rules. Some GMs think this type of business is within the rules, others think it's collusion/circumventing. Most people think it's a legitimate deal, but I can see how some people might want to gripe about it.
My suggestion if you want to avoid this in the future: Make the rule - "A player claimed from the waiver wire must remain on the team that claimed that player for a minimum of one week before the claimed player can be traded." This means a claimed player can't be flipped right away, but at least the player can still be a trading asset in the short-term as the GM would only have to wait a week to trade them. Cheers.
