Hey guys, resurrecting this thread so you all can weigh in on the team I drafted. I'm pretty happy, pengwin's analysis made all the difference. Thanks so much for that.

The majority of the league drafted like it was a points-only league. I got some great value on some solid players.
I slept on taking wingers for a while so I'm thin there, but I think I will still be ok. Callahan was 23rd in this format last season, and I think Simmonds will improve on last year's numbers. Ladd should have a better year too.

I'm a lot deeper than most teams in the league. I think it's a great squad for a 20 team league.

C: John Tavares, Eric Staal (C, LW), Stephen Weiss, Brooks Laich (C,LW), Ryan O'Reilly
LW: Andrew Ladd, S Kostitsyn, Sven Baerstchi
RW: Ryan Callahan, Wayne Simmonds
D: Edler, Phaneuf, Giordano, Stuart
G: Lehtonen, Lindback

Snagged O'Reilly with the last pick in the draft just for kicks. If he plays, this is a good format for him. My LWs are weak, but Laich finished top 50 in this format last year so I got great value on him.

One thing I forgot to note from the start is that it is a weekly lineups league, so I can't shuffle players in and out all week. Not a huge deal, but, it does change things a bit.

ALSO-- I have a trade worked out that consists of me sending Staal and Weiss for Crosby. So, in a 20 team, 2 keeper, center-heavy league, my 2 keepers will be Tavares and Crosby.
Not bad!!

DO THIS NOW! Crosby will likely outscore the pair and you can use the extra roster spot on another winger. Accept. Accept. Accept.

The Crosby trade is a tough one... as a keeper-move goes, it's fantastically brilliant, and I'd probably do it.

In a weekly start league, this is smart.
It's tough to lose all those faceoffs that Eric Staal would rake from the wing though.

Does the other team have Jordan Staal?
Who are his other centers?

I'm just curious - seems insane to offer Crosby.

His other centers are Elias, McDonald, Vermette, and Read; all of whom also have wing eligibility.

I would like to get Vermette thrown in the deal so he can rake in some faceoffs from the wing. But, I know that might be too much to ask for.
