Fair enough. I like the fact that he tries different things while concurrently learning them. Not everything is worth trying, but there is a lot of interesting stuff (especially the 4-Hour Body).

I am enjoying the latest one - as a very intermediate cook there is a lot of practical/easy advice.

Started reading this yesterday. Very excited to see how it all pans out

I recently started The Prince of Nothing series by R. Scott Bakker. So far so good. It was highly recommend on another forum to it anyone chomping at the bit for The Winds of Winter to be released so I gave it a shot. I'm about 300 pages in and digging it so far. That first chapter was powerful, son!

I'll warn you. Some of the names of characters and cities are pretty brutal to read.

Yeah, Bakker's "Second Apocalypse" is a great remedy to the long wait between Martin's "Ice and Fire" Entries. What I like most about it is that it has the same appeal but yet is totally different in content and tone. I've read through "The Judging Eye" myself.

Right now I'm reading "Where Men Win Glory" by Krakauer, which is about the death of Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tillman in Afghanistan and the subsequent cover-up.

I'm also re-reading Martin Cruz Smith's Arkady Renko series whnever I get the chance, which I'd recommend to anyone who likes a good suspense novel. Read "Gorky Park" last year and hoping to get to "Polar Star" soon.

Been reading the story of the 1986 Swift Current Broncos and the bus crash that killed 4 members of that team.

The descriptions of the crash itself are pretty brutal. Not for the feint of heart. Still only half way through but it's a good read for hockey fans.

alright fellas still working on the prince of nothing series but already thinking about what to start afterwards. I'm thinking The Malazan Book of the Fallen Series by Steven Erikson. Anyone here read that and have any opinions on that series?

have you read Good Omens? Gaiman co-wrote it with Terry Pratchet, it's a fun read if you like that kinda thing

Currently i'm reading a book called 'The Round House" by Louise Erdrich, it is a beautifully written book (and National Book Award winner)

Anansi Boys is radically different in content and tone than AG. It's pretty much a black comedy that features one of the "American Gods".

Not saying that it's bad or anything, I enjoyed it, just brace yourself that it's not what you might be expecting after reading AG.

My girlfriend introduced me to the Sword of Truth series....they made a TV show called "Legend of the Seeker" based on the books some people know about the show but not about the books, mystery solved if you're one of them.

It's good, written by Terry Goodkind....fantasy stuff. I'm almost finished with the 2nd book, and it hasn't been big on lore or anything which is a little disappointing that's one of my favorite things about fantasy stories. But the story itself is fun. The series is like 15 books, most of them around 800-1,000 pages so holy crap I'll be at this for awhile but if you're into fantasy check it out.
