Hi all,
In my keeper league we select six players. I thought I had it figured out, but I also own Derek Roy and Dobber seems to have ranked him pretty highly (http://hockey.dobbersports.com/index...id=26:rankings) Why is that? Has he done something that I don't know about? I understand he's on a new team but Dallas isn't exactly a juggernaut. Right now I have chosen Malkin, Parise, Lucic, Mike Richards, Moulson and Ryan Miller over Roy. Should I reconsider? I have until next Tuesday to decide. The offensive stats in my head to head league include... G, A, +/-, PPP, Hits, GWG. Thanks for any help !! In case you're curious, my current team is... Malkin Parise Lucic Mike Richards Burrows Moulson Ribeiro Vrbata Dubinsky Roy Tlusty Yandle Enstrom Del Zotto Ian White |

Dobber's list is based on points-only, I believe... not multiple categories (i.e. "multi-cat".) |

Whatever Dobber thinks, any magazine thinks, any website thinks, I think, your buddy thinks... it doesn't matter. What matters is what YOU think. Be wise and consider the opinions of others. Weigh in the values of your league.
Personally, I like Roy to return to 70 point status. Effectively, replacing Riberio... solid move on the part of the Stars, as far as I'm concerned. He's a proven commodity, with a long proven track record, and one down season. He's still in his prime. I like that he's moving into one of the clearest 'top 6' pictures in the league. Some vets have acclimated instantly in Dallas. I would expect some more of this quick adaptation with new vets. The Stars appear to understand that they can't "rebuild" the playing style of the vets when they arrive. (Teach an old dog new tricks? - Jagr?) If you believe Roy is a 60 pointer (brings more risk) than someone else, then side step him. I think he's pretty good stuff. He's one of the guys I'd like to acquire at the moment on the cheap.

thanks guys !!
Pengwin: i was really debating keeping yandle, but i've always held off on drafting defensemen and it has generally worked out. JHM: gotcha, thanks for your input. i was just thrown for a loop because Dobber has him rated so high, much higher than i think he's deserved to be so far. |
