( The Killing )

cop drama set in copenhagen (subtitles). great acting, solid whodunit. now into season three. bbc broadcast. worth hunting down.

The Killing was fantastic. Very, VERY good and surpising ending to season two. Highly recommend. Can't wait for season three, though expectations will be high. I really hope they delve into Holder's character - I thought he was brilliant in the show.

It was cancelled but then the writers left off another show so they are desperately bringing it back. I've heard nothing but awful things about The Killing. Apparently Season One was entertaining because it was supposed to be a one season show but then they decided to string it out over two seasons and ruined it. All hearsay of course but I don't see myself watching this show.

It wasn't GREAT, but it doesn't deserve the bad rep it gets. Would I recommend it above all else? No. But it's acting makes it a very good show. Joel Kinnaman was near perfect in it. I thought the story was good. I was fine with the second season as I don't like the idea of ending a show after one season. I'm glad it's a serialized show, I'm not a fan of episodic.

i can't see the original being available on netflix. i've been watching the show telecast on the bbc (subtitled). there is an amercan version which i have not seen.

I think sometimes networks and writers alike try to cash in too much on a product that works and change their story simply as a cash grab. You look at what I've heard about The Killing and then what I personally felt from Homeland, these are shows that could/should have been just one season stories and just limited to that. Then maybe in a couple of years with a new idea you make another great one season show and sell it as "from the creators of" and then keep killing it with one season runs. I think that's where TV should try to head. They won't because executives and writers alike need tent pole shows that are proven ratings generators to build new stuff around.
