For USA fans, this was posted on our league board, thought I would share, I still have a sense of humour no matter how bad the loss:

"Gaudreau" ..... Sorry, meant to send private message to Ryan Murphy, he PM me asking me what that was that flew past him so fast he couldn't tell. "That was a Gaudreau, Ryan" Those are found only in the US of A

One day I'll understand the logic of waiting for a 4th goal before changing your goalie when you are being out-played.

This feels like the third straight year when they've waited too long to switch goalies... I know it isn't, because they never had the presence of mind to switch goalies when Russia blew 5 past Visentin in the third period of the 2011 gold medal game.

Bah, I can't be the only one who is bugged by this can I?

Incidentally, nice job to the Americans. Absolutely no denying that they came ready to play and they did a good job all over the ice.

Goaltending was not the issue in that game. Canada was outplayed so badly that it would not have mattered.

Tweeted this last night but I'm now convinced that "USNTDP" stands for "UnStoppably Nasty Toe-Drag Program."

Didn't say that Subban was the problem... but teams generally wake up a bit when the goalie gets axed.

If the goalie isn't the problem then you pull him to change momentum, which makes more sense after three goals.
Just my $0.04 (I'm factoring in inflation since the advent of that saying)

You forgot to factor in escrow money.

Full kudos to the USA junior team. A well deserved victory. And full marks to Phil Housley for guiding them as he did.

My issue with team Canada is coaching all the way.
I agree with another poster that Subban should have been pulled sooner. He wasn't to blame for the loss, but waiting until after the 4th goal was simply too late to have an impact throughout the rest of the team.

They seemed flat and uninspired. More often than not, it's a passionate coach who inspires a team, particularly one made up of boys.

And lastly, I understand winning and losing with your best guys. But RNH was grossly overplayed as were many of the top guys. You can't keep up with a fast team like the Americans when your players are constantly tired from being overplayed. One moment in particular from that game when the Canadians had a chance to get back into it on the powerplay... Nuge's line was visibly tired, and they were left out there to start that PP. Mistake.

What a joke... I woke up this morning, saw the score and just about spat out my coffee.

I don't think there's any excuse for being so badly outplayed with such a talented line-up. Not to take anything away from the rest of the world (which has clearly caught up), but over the years I've noticed that our guys (both junior and senior) seem to have an attitude where they are relying too much on their talent instead of playing hard and with heart.

Embarrassing to be Canadian right now.

USA deserved to win this game. They came to play and out-hustled Canada to nearly every loose puck and forced many (apple)turnovers with their hustle. Gibson was awesome when needed.

I don't fault Subban on the first couple of goals for sure; on that first one, what the hell was Jenner doing there, heading to the front of the net, where both defensemen and an American forward were?? Totally screened Subban, brutal, like a bunch of Tim-Bits!

There isn't much hope for a bronze medal, the Canadians are crushed that they aren't playing for gold and the Russians are the home side and are looking to salvage something from this tournament. Good luck Canada!
