I didn't understand this part:
9:32AM: LeBrun says that the new offer allows teams to have one compliance buyout prior to the 2013-14 season. It doesn’t count against the cap but it does count against the players share.

What does that mean exactly?
I'm guessing that it likely has something to do with the Make Whole provision. Or, possibly, it could come out of the players share of revenue before the cap is determined.

Just some wild guesses though.

It won't count against the team's salary cap, but the player's 50% is impacted - the overall share that the players get. That part may not wash, especially if the buyout is for a player with a lot of years left.

Yeah, it counts towards the players total salary in terms of escrow pay and so on, but not against each team's salary cap.

So - does the player still get their money?
Or is their some NHLPA pot involved?
(I honestly still don't get it)

Who would be some likely examples?
DiPietro (NYI)?
Anybody else?

I assume the buy-out will still have the same rules as before. The team has to pay out 1/3 of the total remaining salary if the player is young enough, otherwise it's 2/3 of the remaining salary. Let's say a player has 15 million bucks left on his contract and he gets bought out. That's 10 million dollars that won't count against the team's salary cap. Not even the cap savings will count against it, like normal buy-outs. The player gets those 10 million since that's 2/3 of the total remaining 15 million dollars. Those 10 million in turn count against the player pool of salary that is counted towards the total league revenue for escrow and whatnot, which means that it's 10 million less for all other players to make that year.

At least that's my take on it.

redden, gomez...

the bought out players would have to still collect their money (unless they agree to take less?)

player contracts are tied to hrr. this clause would reduce players portion of hrr for any given seasons that a bought out player was under contract for. could be a big deal. might not. would have to dig up a list of players that would actually be bought out and figure out how much money is tied to each year.
