If anyone cares.... Jeremy Roenick's #3 hated player = Patrick Marleau

Just had to throw that in there

I will take boring-ass Marleau and his lack of charisma and leadership skills over an unproven kid like Voracek any day.

More importantly, in a league where you have to dress FOUR left-wingers, then Marleau >>> Voracek.

I see how it's laid out, but I assumed it's four for each forward position.

Skeeps, you should re-format it to make it more clear.

That's what I assumed as well. Given the dearth of talent at LW, then a guy like Patty is ridiculously valuable if that's the case.

Oh ok - though it was the 4W, C, RW (meaning one for the others, which seemed ridiculous). I don't have the facts to back it up, but I believe that LW (on Yahoo at least given their insane eligibility) is not necessarily the most scarce position anymore.

That being said, like you I would rather a proven guy whose 64 points last season was his worst in four years and has plenty of opportunity to bounce back over a guy whose career high is 50 and is given this amount of hype due to his 'potential' linemate.

I see people's arguments about steady decline but when you score 83 points in a season it's pretty much guaranteed unless you are one of the best players in the league you will decline from there. His 12% shooting percentage is lower than his career average of 14.2 and his lowest since 07/08. No guarantees he improves but I'll take what I feel is the safer option.

Sorry that I could not respond earlier. We do have to dress 4 LW, 4 C, 4 RW, 6 D and 2 goalies. Also, positions are not fluid (like in Yahoo), but are fixed according to depth chart lines in the Hockey News Yearbook. The only reason I did not take the deal is because of Marleau age and the fact that his production has been trending south for 3 years now. I also have several options on that side, and not as many on my right. On the bright side (in my eyes anyways), I swung a deal for Mike Green today. It cost me my first round pick in 2013 (could be a lottery). But I always say that "you need to give up something to get something". I might be able to up Marleau to Eriksson (Dallas).

I'd do that deal. No hesitation. And for what it's worth, I'd have kept Voracek here too.

When I said "up Marleau to Eriksson" I meant that I might be able to get Eriksson for Voracek of I up the ante from my side a little bit.
