Hey guys I'm looking to compete for the win this season when it ever starts, and OEL is currently my only D-man so my blueline needs bolstering. Luckily I will have a shot at lots of quality guys in the draft.
That being said, my problem now is choosing which guys to target. Streit - an older guy with some recent injury issues that scare me, are his best days behind him? Faulk - will he produce enough now to make him worthwhile, can his upside compete with the others? Enstrom - recent injury issues, smaller guy, bad team? Leddy - enough upside to warrant taking over proven talent? Then there are also some other guys available: A Larsson, Hamilton, Hedman, Visnovsky, Goligoski, E Johnson, Giordano, Gardiner, B Smith, Voynov, and a handful of others. As you can see its a deep draft. Any names jumping out at anybody as obvious?

If looking to compete this year, you can't go wrong with Streit, but my choice for long and short term is Enstrom, followed closely by Goligoski
Enstrom Streit Goli

I would want Enstrom followed by Goligoski.

Competing this year - I want Streit. 47 points after a year off was pretty impressive. I could see him back to 50+ (pro-rata of course). Enstrom is second on my list, and could actually surpass Streit, so wouldn't argue if he was chosen instead. Goligoski is a sneaky pick and I think may fall a bit under the radar so I would consider getting him as well depending on your needs at the time in the draft.
EDIT: Just noticed your sig, are you dropping Doughty for OEL? Ballsy move. I would probably keep Doughty instead. Ok, I see it's salaries so don't have experience in such leagues so could be good reason there.

Streit
Enstrom/Goligoski (coin-flip) ... Faulk ... Leddy I'm big on Streit, I think I may have reached for him in the DobberEntry league this year (or hf's RHRS, not sure which one). Goligoski is going to have a rebound year... I think. That DAL PP will be much, much, much improved. They were dismal last year. And Enstrom is Enstrom, one of the slickest passers in the NHL. Any of those three are great choices. [ps. This is a salary league?] |

What are your scoring cats?
Personally I'd pick Streit and not only because I'm this much of a homer. Yes, he's oldish and therefore probably a bit more injury prone than younger guys, but his shoulder injury from last season doesn't scare me. It was an accident, it has healed. So it's much less frightening than a chronic thing like groin issues or similar stuff....

That's exactly who I like as well. Too bad peripherals don't count, otherwise Giordano would be a nice option.

I'm going with this list. It's close between Streit and Enstrom but Streit carries a bit more risk IMO.
I would stay away from Faulk given that he would not be a keeper. He only carries value as a keeper.
