I concur.
I went on a Liam Neeson kick recently watching Batman Begins & then Taken.
I was hoping for a good end to the trifecta but The Grey was not a good movie.

On a side Liam Neeson note... has anybody ever seen a Japanese video called Ponyo?
The US voices make it a really fun movie to watch. (Neeson, Tina Fey, Matt Damon... Betty White!)
Great, great movie for anybody with a 2-7 year old. Probably my fave cartoon of the last 10 years (though I'm a sucker for Japanimation).

ponyo is a great movie for kids and adults.
you should give my neighbor totoro a shot, too.
spirited away could be the best of the bunch, but it is probably too much for little ones.

That movie is so powerful and probably the only movie that uses video games intelligently and not as some sort of "let's make this hip, yo!" gimmick.

If you know anything about Shadow of the Colossus (in short: the main character battles the colossi to make his loved one come to life again) it's obvious how smart the use of the game is.

My last five:

3/5 Premium Rush - fairly entertaining bike delivery movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt
2/5 Nathalie - pretty boring French relationship flick with Audrey Tautou
3/5 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - Standard action fare.
4/5 The Room - So bad it's awesome, almost 5/5 stars. Tommy Wiseau's epic drama that EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH! Some of the funniest shit I've ever seen.
1/5 Birdemic: Shock and Terror - So bad it's good for about 20 minutes, then it just gets tiresome the rest of the way.

1. Dark Knight Rises - rewatched it because I loved it so much.
2. Skyfall - It's Bond...what more do you have to say.
3. End of Watch - Awesome movie.
4. Flight - As PD mentioned, not what I expected. Not great but not bad either. Denzel is one of my absolute favourite actors so bonus points for that.
5. Hotel Transylvannia - Took the GF to see it cuz she likes those Disney style animated films. Actually pretty funny. Actually a little scary for very little kids though IMO.

As a side note, I saw the Bourne Legacy when it came out and I was extremely disappointed with it.

Another animated movie I took the GF to see. I actually really liked Brave.

1) Life of Pi - 6.5/10... amazing visual effects, but boring as **** (despite what the reviews say). Two thirds of the movie was a dude and a tiger in a boat...
2) Wreck it Ralph - 8.5/10... got dragged to this one by a date but it was surprisingly awesome
3) Killing them Softly - 6/10... unique style, much like a Tarantino movie, but I just didn't dig it
4) Loopers - 9/10... AMAZING
5) Skyfall - 7.5/10... it was good but didn't live up to the enormous hype in my view

Captain America. 6.5/10 decent.
Hobo with a shotgun. 6/10. It was so bad I loved it.
A lonely place to die. 5/10. The story had me interested but it was just poorly executed.
The bounty Hunter. 5.5/10. Anything Anniston is worth checking out even if you fast fwd parts.
Blue valentine. 4/10. I watched it in 10 minutes. Beginning, middle and end fight scene. Depressing movie. (yes I do weird things watching movies in 10 minutes. I'm on paternity leave!! LOL )

1. Skyfall - 5/10. BIG disappointment. It didn't feel like a Bond movie at all. Excellent action, though.

2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - 8/10. Very good Swedish crime thriller.

3. Tangled - 8/10. My daughter and I enjoyed this a great deal. Good for kids and immature adults too.

4. Prometheus - 4/10. Horrible dialog and mediocre story. Only redeeming factor was the breathtaking cinematography.

5. Planet Earth - 10/10. OK, not strictly a movie but this BBC series of nature documentaries is just out of this world. If you haven't seen this yet, do yourself a favor and do. This is by far the most memorable visual feast in years. Be warned though, it's highly addictive. I keep going back to it over and over.

I totally second Planet Earth! Did you watch the short "best of" compilation or the complete version spanning several discs? I sometimes leave it on the TV when I'm doing various stuff in the apartment. I catch myself getting stuck in front of the TV because of something completely stunning.

I've got the complete multi-disk version. 6 disks of awesomeness.
