Wow! Hurtin a bit on a Friday morning. Celebrated the wedding anniversary with the wife last night. Tried this brand new monster, IIPA:
http://www.canadianbeernews.com/2012...now-available/ 22 oz solo, then shared some celebratory wine. Not a great idea. Beer was awesome though. It tasted like Red Racer with a massive case of hoppy Roid Rage. Seek out if your in the Lower mainland and want to smash your palate. Now, it's off to teach......thankfully, a Friday that starts off with an hour and a half with the class at the local skating rink.

Plowing through a 12 pack of Sam Adams Winter Classics. The Old Fezziwig and Holiday Porter aren't too shabby. Also included are the Boston Lager, Winter Ale, Chocolate Bock, and White Christmas.

After the comments on the Hopwired IPA, I decided to revisit the brew and I definitely see what you guys mean about the aftertaste. I didn't notice it before, but I do now. I was comparing it to a Hop Zombie, but I had one the night before I drank the Hopwired IPA and it is not in the same league. Hopwired is way more one dimensional that the HZ. The hop profile is not that close and the mouthfeel is way thinner. The smell is nice and its a fair beer tho.
The home brewing has been very rewarding. If anyone that frequents this thread is thinking about it, GO FOR IT!!!!! You will definitely enjoy the hobby. BTW... my mother-in-law bought me 6 Hop Zombie's for my birthday! hahaha! I take it all back, she's awesome. My personal stash of the brew is currently sitting at 11. I friggin love that beer.

Man, things have gone quiet the past couple of weeks. Everbody Christmas shopping or what? If I can't talk hockey, the next best thing is probably beer. And now I'm doing a cleanse/diet which includes no alcohol.
At least let me read about what others are drinking.

Found an interesting website called SeekABrew. I'm sure some, maybe many, of you already know of it, but for those that don't it looks like a good place to get an approximation of what brands are available in your area. You can click on a state on the map and it will give you a list of what should be available. You can also go to a pull down just above the map and select a brewer and see where they distribute.
Needless to say it probably isn't 100% accurate, that would be a difficult task to stay on top of as changes occur with different brewers, laws, etc, but it does give you an idea of what you can expect to find.... http://www.seekabrew.com/distro/index.html Still waiting to get the all clear from work before I imbibe. I'm looking at some Little Sumpin Sumpin, Red's Rye, and Bitch Creek if don't get called in.
