Default Chad Billins (unheralded, undrafted & succeeding)

Chad Billins is a guy who has somewhat popped on my fantasy radar in the last few weeks.

The 23 year old 5-10, 182 lb d-man signed to an AHL only contract as of right now. 4 years of college hockey under his belt at a very well respected program(Ferris State), A 1st team All-Star, very successful academically. A smart, playmaking, pass first type from everything I've gathered. As a rookie, currently sits 4th in AHL scoring by d-men, w/ 1 goal and 16 pts, behind only Justin Schultz, TJ Brennan and Justin Faulk.

If not for the lockout and restriction on signing players, wouldn't surprise me if Detroit would ink this guy to a two way contract. If he isn't signed by Detroit at some point, I imagine there will be plenty of interest from other NHL teams if he keeps this kind of production up.

Not much info out there right now on Billins, but someone to consider at least adding to your "watch" list. Heres the only article I could find on him.
