Schultz +4 yesterday, Faulk -5. Where's that thread comparing the 2 at?

Faulk isn't playing with Staal, Skinner, or Semin, the guys who might be the Hurricanes top line whenever a season comes. The talent level that each minor team has isn't really comparable, so it's hard to compare Schultz to Faulk based on their AHL play. If Faulk was playing consistently with top line NHL players, then a comparison might be more fair.

I remain a staunch Schultz supporter, but his recent numbers (and those of his teammates) DO need to have some perspective.
It's fairly obvious now that the OKC boys are kinda outclassing the AHL a bit. So those numbers are now ballooning a bit ridiculously. He's still going to be a good NHLer with good to great numbers, if only (as I said earlier in the thread) because he's getting key time to learn/mesh with the rest of the Oilers key players. And, as said before, he's going to be the point man for a long time with that stacked group of youngsters. But it's fair to say we've gotta not get carried away. The OKC team is just popping out numbers right now - they won't do that in the NHL. Maybe once every 7,8 games, but not night-in, night-out. He's a 40+ NHLer. But too early to start yelling about Bobby Orr and 60+ seasons....although, as an owner, I'd love it.

When I started this thread I meant 40+ NHL points.

Schultz seems to be getting the same hype Rundblad did.
Rundblad dominated his league with a Pierre-McGuire-Monsteresque performance, but has struggled to maintain a roster spot on an NHL team. His talent isn't doubted, but his arrival time has been significantly delayed. Does anybody see the same happening with Schultz? |

Runbaldy was great in the SEL but then was simply okay in the AHL - though admittedly with less talent on his team.
Sure there's a chance, but Schultz at the AHL level is destroying Runbaldy's production. And yes I wrote Runbaldy's name wrong on purpose! |
