-Toronto designated Joel Carreno for assignment following the blockbuster trade that took place between them and Miami. It was made official today.
-The Indians are open to trading Asdrubal Cabrera and Shin-Soo Choo, but ony for the right offer. They've made other teams aware of this and are believed to be fielding calls on both of them. -The Yankees would like to bring back Raul Ibanez and continue to talk with him. Ibanez is 40 years old, but you wouldn't believe that based on the way he's playing and how he did in the playoffs. -Japanese reliever Kyuji Fujikawa has met with five teams (Arizona, Cubs, Angels, Dodgers and Orioles). -Tampa Bay, Boston, Philadelphia and Houston are considering Lance Berkman. -The Padres are bringing back manager Bud Black for another year, as the team exercised his 2013-2013 contract option. -Texas is interested in both J.P. Arencibia and John Buck, would you trade either of them in a deal for say Alexi Ogando? Could be a good fit with Toronto. -The Phillies want to sign Michael Bourn and if they don't, B.J. Upton is their next target. If they fail to sign either of those guys, they could snag Josh Hamilton.
