Yeah definitely warning signs... Even with the NHL, him and his agent were refusing to sign a contract and there were numerous reports that he wanted out of Winnipeg as he was taking a real "playboy/schoolboy" (what is the right term?) attitude...

I dunno I'm cautious about him, I'm scared that it'll filter into his game and affect his fantasy totals.

I am sort of the same mindset here. See to many negative type of distractions from him. Sure, he needs to mature a little more, he is young but some warning signs / red flags are there.

I wouldn't worry about Evander. A lot of North Americans just don't adjust well to playing in the KHL, similarly to europeans showing difficulty adjusting to playing over here.

Vincent Lecavalier, at 24 years old during the last lockout, went and played in russia too. He didn't exactly light it up, with only 7 goals and 15 pts in 30 games. Pretty good article I pulled up from 2005 that talks about some of the challenges a North American might experience in russia.

To Evander owners, don't let this affect his value. I got to watch him up close and personal countless times when he was a Thrasher...and he pushed through to another level last season. He'll be more than fine, trust me. Keep him around, no reason to be alarmed.

Take it as a good buy low fellas. He'll figure it out and when does, he'll be a beauty to most leagues.

I'm not concerned at all. Low ice time, different culture. Out of shape? Compared to other guys who were already playing? Overblown.
